13th International Conference on integrated Formal Methods (iFM 2017)
Barbera Wine Tasting Event
Dear Colleague,
as Wine Chair of iFM 2017 it is my great pleasure to invite you to a
very special Wine tasting that I organized for the participants. Since
this kind of event does not scale to a large number of participants,
it is only available via a separate registration and an additional fee
of 40,-- €. The number of places is limited to 25 and seats will be
given on a first-come first-serve basis.
Piemonte is one of the world’s great wine regions and famous for its
vintage Barolos (made from the Nebbiolo grape) which can be very
expensive. A little less known -- and much less expensive -- is the
Barbera grape which is also cultivated by practically all great Barolo
producers. Barbera often features opulent fruit in the nose, followed
by aromas of dried plum on the tongue. The best Barberas have dozens
of Caudalies (my favorite physical unit). We will get to know eight
different Barberas prepared by the most ambitious producers from the
Alba as well as the Asti regions in Piemonte.
We start the wine tasting with a glass of bubble, then we try the two
Piemontese white wine varieties (Timorasso and Arneis), before moving
on to the Barberas. Snacks and fingerfood (that could be considered a
light dinner) will be served. The event will take place in Vinolento
Cantina & Cucina (map), an Enoteca located in the old centre that is famous
for its food as well as wine. Of course, you can also buy and drink
(or take away) any bottle from the Enoteca’s large sortiment.
I look very much forward to this event and I sincerely hope that you
will join me!
